Mr. Jossen has litigated a wide variety of cases including personal injury, business disputes, insurance bad faith, civil rights and governmental claims. Mr. Jossen has also emphasized a sub-specialty in the area of children’s rights and has litigated numerous cases involving sexual molestation, social worker negligence, burn, injury and institutional neglect matters. Mr. Jossen is known as a “go to” person in this area of the law. He served for approximately 10 years on the Judicial Task Force for Tort Reform of the Dependency Court and helped write the Court’s policy in this area. He has represented hundreds of children in their claims against Government entities, insurance companies and private parties.
Mr. Jossen has litigated in California Trial Courts and the California Court of Appeal and has petitioned for review before the California Supreme Court on behalf of his clients.
Mr. Jossen is currently an adjunct Professor of Law at Pepperdine Law School. Mr. Jossen teaches Client Interviewing, Counseling and Direction.

Mr. Jossen also maintains an active mediation practice. He began his mediation practice in 1987 as an Arbitrator for the Los Angeles Superior Court. From 1987 to 2001, Mr. Jossen handled 2 cases a week for the Los Angeles Superior Court. Mr. Jossen has been a mediator for the Los Angeles Superior Court since the inception of the program. Mr. Jossen continues to serve in the Los Angeles Superior Courts.
Mr. Jossen is also a settlement officer for the California Court of Appeal and the United States District Court since the inception of each of their programs. In these positions, Mr. Jossen has heard a wide variety of cases including entertainment, civil rights [1983 claims], government claims, personal injury and business litigation of all types.
Mr. Jossen has been a panelist with the America Arbitration Association for more than 15 years. He handles both Mediations and Arbitrations for the AAA. In this capacity, Mr. Jossen has arbitrated numerous entertainment related disputes including film distribution, business dissolutions, trade secret and other matters.
Mr. Jossen has a thorough knowledge of attorney-client issues. For 20 Years Mr. Jossen was a member of both the Los Angeles and the Beverly Hill County Bar Association Attorney Client Bar Committee. In this context, Mr. Jossen has arbitrated several hundred attorney and client and attorney fee distribution matters.
